To get maximum life, cut down on possible warranty situations, and properly maintain your power steering system, it is necessary to do the following when changing a power steering pump. 

  1. Flush the system and change the filter, which is usually located in the reservoir.  (Click here for flushing instructions.)
  2. Bleed the air from the system. (Click here for bleeding instructions.)
